Hey, I’m Sam Mekonnen!

At some point as an actor, I grew tired of blasting out a million postcards and cold-emailing agents with zero results. The science behind successfully landing an agency meeting and the daunting submission process became my mission. This particular journey led to the birth of Talent Consult LA in early 2018.

One Saturday while sitting on a bench, I stumbled upon the solution to my problem. Through trial and error, I developed a result-driven formula via a curated list of my industry connections, ultimately scoring 8 agency meetings within a week! It felt like I reinvented fire. I couldn’t believe the results, and eagerly, I promised to help my close actor friends secure representation the same way. I gathered them and we sat around the table, the five of us, it looked like a scene from The Godfather. One after the other, they were repped by well-known SAG-franchised agents. I lit the fuse and they each took off like colorful fireworks in the midnight Los Angeles sky.

As a performer, I can be seen in several feature films, TV episodes, and national commercials. As a personality, I have appeared on Entertainment Tonight, attended The Oscars, and have been featured in People. I’ve sat in the trenches as an actor and had the privilege of attending top-tier representation meetings. When I am involved, I bring all my expertise to the table so that you can achieve your career goals and inspire the world with your gift as a performer.

I have supported countless actors in achieving their business goals. What I've learned in the process, is that NONE of them would have been successful without a strategy.

By default, actors are constantly judged and most of them feel a certain amount of pressure to land their next gig. Given the circumstances, they seem to be one of the most resilient groups of professionals. Putting up with endless rejection, and never hearing back from auditions that supposedly went fantastic. Give yourself a round of applause for not giving up against all odds, and deciding to become an artist even though your loved ones advised you to study law or medicine. Only actors truly know how rewarding it can also be. You took the leap of faith.

Artists choose to work with me because I treat my client’s careers the way I would treat my own acting career, and I do so wholeheartedly. 

There are no shortcuts to success, as the saying goes. However, you can indeed reach your goals much quicker with the help of talent- experts who can point out your blind spots far better than you can.
